Randy Sams Seeking Summer Donations Ahead of Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser

The Randy Sams Outreach Shelter is asking the Texarkana community to lend a helping hand this summer by donating much-needed food, hygiene items, clothing, and household supplies.

Summer Challenges and Needs Continue

The shelter recently shared a list of its most urgent needs, including bottled water, sports drinks, canned vegetables, beans, rice, pasta, sauces, dry milk, cereal, paper products, and bathroom tissue.

Hygiene items such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, razors, and feminine hygiene products are also in high demand. The shelter is also seeking men's boxers (sizes L and XL), men's shorts and pants, women's underwear, reading glasses, reusable shopping bags, and reusable drink bottles.

Those who would rather make a financial contribution can do so through the shelter's online donation options.

Cornhole Tournament Set for August 2

Cornholers get ready, your chance to help the shelter while enjoying a little friendly competition during the Randy Sams Invitational Cornhole Tournament is coming up on Sunday, August 2.

The tournament begins at 3 PM at the Arkansas Elks Club, 4701 Garland Avenue in Texarkana, Arkansas. Amateur and pro divisions will be offered, with trophies awarded to the top teams. Registration is open through July 27.

Team entry levels range from $130 to $500, with proceeds benefiting the Randy Sams Outreach Shelter.

Whether it's donating supplies, making a financial gift, or signing up for the cornhole tournament, every contribution helps the Randy Sams Outreach Shelter continue serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness throughout the Texarkana area.
