Annual Kidtastic Fishing Derby Returns to Bobby Ferguson Park in July

Young anglers are invited to grab their fishing poles and head to Bobby Ferguson Park for a morning of outdoor fun at the annual Kidtastic Fishing Derby hosted by Texarkana, Arkansas Parks and Recreation.

A Free Event for Young Anglers in Texarkana

The Kidtastic Fishing Derby will take place on Friday, July 10, from 9 MA to noon at Lake Diefenbacher in Bobby Ferguson Park. The free event is open to children ages 3 to 15 years old.

Each year, the derby brings families together for a fun-filled morning of fishing, friendly competition, and outdoor recreation. Hundreds of prizes and trophies will be awarded, with prizes going to the first participants who catch a fish.

More Than Just Fishing at Kidtastic Fishing Derby in Texarkana

In addition to casting a line, attendees can enjoy music, free food, community activities, a live fish-cleaning demonstration, and plenty of family-friendly fun throughout the morning.

The event also provides an opportunity for local organizations to connect with families. Parks and Recreation is currently seeking volunteers and free vendors who would like to provide activities, educational resources, or community information during the event.
