That's right, the boom is back at the former Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. If you're new to the area, please don't be alarmed. Those of you who have been around a while are probably used to it.

The United States Army is conducting Environmental clean-up activities once again, this means the use of remediation contractors at the former Army ammunition plant using high explosive demolition charges. Depending on how far away from the old plant you are will determine how much you feel and or hear it.

These explosions will continue for several months. There could very well be multiple detonations on the same day when they are needed. Following protocols, these detonations will begin no earlier than 9 AM and will conclude no later than 4:30 PM on the days they occur.

The remediation contractors will be following all required federal rules and regulations in conducting these activities and depending on weather conditions, loud noise and vibrations will be felt and heard by our local surrounding communities. They understand the concerns of the community and will endeavor to mitigate the impacts as they complete these explosive activities.
