Is Arkansas One Of The Most Stressed-Out States In US?
According to a recent analysis, the answer is yes. Where does Arkansas land in the Top 10 Most Stressed States in the US? Would you believe in the top 5?
Having lived next door to my friends and neighbors in Arkansas for a long time, I'm having difficulty believing some of these claims. The Natural State has always seemed to be pretty laid back to me. Sure, everyone is seeing stressful times, with rising prices, interest rates, and the overall economy may have everyone feeling more anxious these days, but the Top 5? Let's take a look.
According to a recent survey by WalletHub.com, and the American Psychological Association, America's biggest stressors last year were money, the economy, and health-related issues. The stress seems to be across all age groups except those 65 and older. The vast majority were far more stressed in 2023 than in 2019.
The survey used 40 metrics to come to its conclusions, including hours worked per week, bankruptcy rates, and even hours of sleep on average.
The good news is, Arkansas is NOT the MOST Stressed State:

What put Arkansas in the Top 5? Apparently, according to the "Experts", Arkansas is #1 in Health and Safety-Related Stress. I'm still not buying it.
Since I actually live in Texas, I had to look that up as well, the Lone Star State is 10th overall in the most stressed-out States in the US. Stresses me out just looking at that.
