4 Things To Do If You Win The $820 Million Mega Million on Tuesday
It's time to dream big again. Last week, we saw that there was a winning Powerball ticket in L.A. for $1 billion. Now it is The Mega Millions that is growing with the jackpot tomorrow night (Tuesday, July 25) at $820 million.
According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery if this jackpot is won it will be the 5th largest jackpot won in Mega Millions history. The last time the Mega Millions jackpot was won was on April 18 for $20 million.
With the Jackpot at $820 million, the cash value is estimated at 422 million.
You can get your tickets at lottery retailers or on the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery app called Jackpocket.
What's The Best Way to Pick Your Lottery Numbers
Do you ever wonder which is the best way to pick your numbers? Should you pick the numbers yourself or go for a quick pick and let the computer select the numbers?
Eric Hagler the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery executive director said in a press release;
“A player’s selection method does not affect the probability of matching the winning numbers drawn. There are more winners from Quick Picks because most purchases are by Quick Pick.”
So basically your odds are the same. Overall the odds of winning the big jackpot is 1 in 303 million but there are a lot of smaller wins and your chances are good at 1 in 24.
So what would you do with the money if you won the whole shebang? The first things to do according to CNBC are:
Take a Selfie with the Ticket
1. Take a picture of the ticket and make sure you are in the photo also make sure the numbers are visible.
Keep Quiet About Your Win
2. It would be hard but don't tell anyone. If you do make sure they keep it quiet. word can travel fast and everyone you ever set an eye on will all of a sudden be your long-lost best friend or relative.
Keep Your Ticket Safe
3. Keep your ticket safe, like a bank safety deposit box or a fireproof safe at home. Even a desk drawer with a lock on it is better than nothing.
Get a Financial Adviser A.S.A.P.
4. Find a big-name financial planner preferably one that has worked with big lottery winners in the past.
Good Luck!
