Some I-30 Frontage Roads in Bowie County are slated to receive new surfaces according to TxDOT.

A section of two Interstate 30 Frontage Roads in New Boston will receive a new riding surface during coming months according to plans approved in July by the Texas Department of Transportation.

“We will be resurfacing a 0.2-mile section of the frontage roads from State Highway 8 to the end of state maintenance on the west side of SH 8,” said Kenny Icenhower, area engineer for TxDOT in Texarkana.  “The old pavement will be removed, the base materials strengthened and then the entire roadway will be repaved.”

Longview Bridge and Road of Longview was awarded the contract for the construction project with a bid of $798,693.

Work on the project should begin in September and take about five months to complete,
