How High Can You Legally Go In Arkansas?

Do you know where in Arkansas you will find the highest point? You know the tallest mountain or hill.

I found a silly video on Youtube that goes into the highest point in every state and of course, I was curious about the highest points in our area.

Did you know the lowest high point in the United States is in Florida? Britton Hill Florida is only 345 feet above sea level. The highest point in the United States is in Alaska. Denali, Alaska is 20,310 feet above sea level. Mount Denali was known as Mount McKinley until 2015. So how did our four states area do?

Texas

Texas is in the number one spot with Guadalupe Peak. The peak comes in at 8751 feet. Guadalupe Peak is in the Guadalupe Mountain Range in Wes Texas that is shared with New Mexico.

Oklahoma

The highest point in Oklahoma is Black Mesa. It is 4975 feet and is located near the border of New Mexico and Colorado.

Lousiana

The highest point in Louisiana is Driskill Mountian. It is only 535 feet above sea level and is located in the Northern part of the state. just southeast of Minden Louisiana.

Arkansas

The highest point in Arkansas is Mount Magazine. Coming in at 2753 feet it is located just Southwest of Russelville.

Have you been to any of these places? Some of them are easy drives with roads right to the top and some may require a little hike. I think with gas prices the way they are maybe a quick trip to Mount Magazine and the surrounding area might be in order.
