Historic 100-Year-Old Little Rock Building Set to be Restored

If you have ever been in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas chances are you've seen the historic 100-year-old building known as the Boyle Building. I have often thought that the architecture of this building was beautiful and I'm pleased to hear that planning stages are now underway to bring this once-glamorous building back to life.

The iconic white 11-story high-rise building has been a landmark in the downtown area and sits along Capitol and Main Street, according to a report with THV11.

The construction and renovation of the building should begin within the next 30 days and when work is completed the building is expected to showcase a new restaurant, coffee shop, and a new attorney general's office. If all goes according to plan, the $35-million project should be completed by October 2024.

The developer of the project also will be working on renovating other buildings that are in dire need of repair or updates and the construction of a brand-new Arkansas Symphony Orchestra building is also in the works. Each project is a continuation of revitalizing downtown Little Rock for future generations and for economic growth.

The Boyle building was built in 1909 and was once the second-largest high--rise building in downtown Little Rock, for a short time it was the state bank building and in 1949 a 12th floor was added as a Penthouse. The building has been vacant for almost 25 years now.
