Groundbreaking Ceremony For New Wadley Regional Medical Center Wednesday

We've heard for a few years that this would happen and now the ball is rolling. There will be a Ground Breaking and Rendering Reveal Ceremony for the construction of the new Wadley Regional Medical Center.

The ceremony will take place Wednesday, September 15 at 11 AM at West Park Boulevard in Texarkana Texas. The location of the hospital will be behind Lafferty's Home Center.

West Park Boulevard will be temporarily closed for 24 hours because of expected traffic for the groundbreaking, The closing will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 and will reopen at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Special guest speakers will be there including;

Ralph de la Torre, M.D., Founder, Chairman and CEO of Steward Health Care

Sanjay Shetty, M.D., President of North America, Steward Health Care

Tom Gilbert, President of Wadley Regional Medical Center

Plus both mayors;

Bob Bruggeman, Mayor, Texarkana, TX

Allen Brown, Mayor, Texarkana, AR

The new $227 Million Wadley Regional Medical Center in Northwest Texarkana is expected to take 32 months to complete depending on weather conditions.

How do you feel about Wadley's new location? I hate to see that there won't be a hospital that will be centrally located for the Arkansas side of town. But that's progress, right?
