Back in the day in Texarkana, there was a time when postcards were a way of sending a greeting to someone you cared about. Some people like to buy them as a souvenir as they passed through the city and others just like collecting them as a reminder of a town they visited.

In those golden days of yesteryear, you could walk into any drug store, gas station, cafe, coffee shop, grocery store, or souvenir shop, yes we had them back then and purchase a Texarkana greeting card. Those days are gone now, if we want to send a greeting we just text or email one another. The times have changed but the memories are still around if you know where to look for them and eBay is a great place to start if you are looking for nostalgic postcards of vintage Texarkana.

Let's go back in time and see how many of these old vintage postcards you remember or don't remember.

Back in the 1950s, this postcard showed the welcome sign coming into Texarkana, Texas Notice the arrow that reads "Biggest Lake in Texas," that being Lake Texarkana at that time. Who are those ladies?

Finally, this is probably one of the most bizarre Texarkana greeting cards but you have to admit, it's funny. The look on the man holding the cow rope is a little creepy though.
