This year it will be a drive-thru event at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana, Texas on Saturday, March 4.

Three Types of Free Tree Root Seedlings Will be Handed Out

There will be 900 bare root seedings that will be given away. The wonderful thing about this program is that the trees that will be handed out grow great here in the Texarkana area.

According to the press release;

A certified arborist was asked to select a variety of trees to ensure they are adaptable to Texarkana’s climate. The species selected to be given out include Sawtooth Oak, Bald Cypress, and Allegany Chinkapin.

This popular event will start at 9 AM at Spring Lake Park right across from the Rotary Splash Pad. The event will end at 10:30 AM or when all the seedlings have been given out. I've been to this event before and it goes fast! A word of advice is to be sure to get there early.

There will be members from Keep Texarkana Beautiful, Texarkana Texas City staff, Partnership for the Pathways, and Texas Forestry Services there to hand out all the 900 bare root seedlings.

As I said this event is super popular so get in line early. When you get there you are asked to please stay in your vehicle. The volunteers will bring the young tree seedlings to you. Be sure to come into Spring Lake Park through the Mall Drive Entrance which is where the line will start forming.
