For years Texarkana has made Hot Springs their vacation destination whether it's for a short getaway or a weeklong stay. Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start to summer and what better place to be for its annual Memorial weekend fireworks display?
Fireworks Over Lake Hamilton
Visitors to the national park can enjoy a free fireworks display from the banks of Lake Hamilton and if you have a boat there's nothing like watching the fireworks on the water of course, at a safe distance.
The fireworks are scheduled to go off on Sunday, May 28, at dusk from the middle of Lake Hamilton across from the Double Tree Inn by Hilton Hotel at the first Highway 7 bridge. In the event of rain, the fireworks will be rescheduled for Monday, May 29.
In addition to the fireworks display, there will be a ton of Memorial weekend activities going on all around Hot Springs.
Buddy Jewell May 26
Arkansas-born and Nashville country star Buddy Jewell will be inducted into the Arkansas Walk of Fame in Hill Wheatley Plaza at the Bridge Street LIVE entertainment district at 5 PM. Buddy also will perform a free concert at 7 PM after a special guest appearance from Justin Brooks.
Old Crow Medicine Show May 26
This Grammy Winning Band and Grand Ole Opry inductee Old Crow Medicine Show will perform Friday, May 26, at Oaklawn Park at 7 PM.
Liverpool Legends May 26-27
This world-renowned band Liverpool Legends brings the music of the iconic Beatles to life with their uncanny resemblance to the Fab 4 on Friday, May 26-27. They have toured around the world and have been endorsed by Louise Harrison, sister of the late George Harrison of the Beatles. If you are a Beatles fan do not miss this show.
The Liverpool Legends have played at some of the biggest venues including Carnegie Hall in New York City and have their own venue in Branson, Missouri. Purchase tickets here.
Highland Games May 27
This will mark the 3rd annual Highland Games from 9 AM to 6 PM where over 60 athletes will be competing in 9 Scottish events like Stone Throw, Weight Over Bar, Hammer Throw, and Sheaf Toss just to name a few. There will be plenty of food, drinks, and merriment at this highly popular event hosted by the Arkansas Highlanders. See more information on their Facebook page.

The Hot Springs Concert Band will perform a variety of patriotic music that will honor and remember all the men and women of our armed faces who served our nation so that we can enjoy all the liberties and freedom we enjoy today. More information is here.
