One of Arkansas' much anticipated events is coming March 18-19, in Historic Washington  State Park, the 54th Annual Jonquil Festival.

Many folks in this area have been going to this springtime event for years.

What makes this event special is the thousands of blooming jonquils that surround this Victorian-style 18th century village tucked in between tall pine trees. Every time that I visit I really feel as though I am stepping back in time.

Festival Events

Unique crafts and delicious foods are just part of the attractions as well as live music and entertainment. In addition to lots of crafts, and food vendors, festivities will also include the Four States Iron Munchers, 5K run, and a classic car show.

Food and Concert

The Hope Lions Club will be cooking fish at the Washington Volunteer Fire Department Friday, March 18, from 3 pm to 6:30 pm to raise money for the department. Tickets are $15 for 3-piece fish fillets, french fries, coleslaw, pinto beans, and hush puppies. So, grab a plate of food and head over to the big green and yellow tent for a live concert from native Arkansan and country artist Dillon Cate. Dillon is a very talented singer from Jonesboro who not only sings country but can also perform other genres of music as well. However, most people thinks he sounds like Garth Brooks as evidenced in this video.

Williams Tavern Restaurant

Williams Tavern Restaurant will be open too serving a buffet both days from 11 am – 3 pm. The Jonquil Festival will also be offering tours of the park, historic homes, and museums available at regular price.
