2015 Oscars: Eddie Redmayne Wins Best Actor for ‘The Theory of Everything’
This year’s Best Actor Oscar race was incredibly tight, offering five nominees who delivered absolutely fantastic performances in some of the year’s best and most acclaimed films. The race is now over, as Eddie Redmayne has won the 2015 Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in The Theory of Everything.
Redmayne took home the statue for Best Actor for his beautiful, brilliant and extremely dedicated performance as renowned physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. The actor was up against some pretty stiff competition in the Best Actor category, competing against fellow nominees Benedict Cumberbatch for The Imitation Game, Steve Carell for Foxcatcher, Michael Keaton for Birdman, and Bradley Cooper for American Sniper. Each of these nominees delivered exceptional performances, truly committing to their roles in their respective films, but it was Redmayne who impressed the Academy the most.
Redmayne recently won the award for Best Actor for his role in The Theory of Everything at the 2015 Golden Globes, where he was also up against Benedict Cumberbatch and Steve Carell.
