Def Leppard Has A Concert Film From Las Vegas Hitting Theaters In October

This past spring, Def Leppard thrilled Las Vegas audiences during a residency at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where the band played its entire classic 1987 album Hysteria, plus other selections from their impressive catalog.  Now fans will be able to enjoy highlights from those special shows at a movie event that will take place in theaters across North America in early October.

Culled from various performances shot during the group’s 11-night Vegas stint, Def Leppard Viva! Hysteria Concert features footage of the hard-rock legends playing all of the 12-times-platinum Hysteria, as well as such hits as “Rock of Ages” and “Photograph.”

Regarding his band’s decision to play the Vegas concerts, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott says, “Artists like Motley Crue, Elton John, Guns N’ Roses and Cheap Trick have recently done residencies and rock ‘n’ roll has definitely moved in!  So, there was no better place for us to take the show.  It was a fantastic experience for us and for our fans.”

Def Leppard Viva! Hysteria Concert will be shown in U.S. theaters on October 2 and 8, and in Canadian cinemas on October 2 and 3.  Visit FathomEvents.com to learn specific locations where the screenings will take place.  The movie will begin at 8 p.m. local time at all theaters.

In related news, Def Leppard will release audio and video packages boasting performances from the band’s Viva! Hysteria shows on October 22.  Def Leppard Viva! Hysteria Concert will be available as a two-CD/DVD set, a single DVD, a Blu-ray and a digital album.

The audio and video collections will feature Def Leppard’s main set, which included the Hysteria performance, plus select other hits, as well as the opening set of rarities and fan favorites that the group delivered under the moniker Ded Flatbird.  In addition, the DVD and Blu-ray will offer a bonus acoustic medley and a photo montage from the residency.
