The Rotary Club of Texarkana has awarded Mr. Todd Musgraves the Texarkana Arkansas School District Teacher of the Year. 

Mr. Musgraves is a 4th grade Math and Science teacher at College Hill Elementary.Mr. Musgraves completed his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville.

After college, he began his professional career as a police officer for the Van Buren Police Department. As a police officer, he enjoyed the challenges of police work and serving his community. He noticed though, that he really liked working around children and helping them succeed. He decided after 7 years with the police department to transition into teaching.

Mr. Musgraves joined the TASD Razorback family in 2009. He has served as a 4th-grade teacher at Fairview Elementary, Kilpatrick Elementary, and College Hill Elementary schools. His colleagues describe Mr. Musgraves as an educator who possesses the determination, passion, and work ethic needed to establish rapport with students.

Mr. Musgraves drives to make his students better every day pushing them and expecting nothing but the best from each and every one. He has continued being an adult learner and completed the coursework at Texas A&M-Texarkana for his Master’s degree in Curriculum and is currently working on obtaining his principal licensure.

Mr. Musgraves is married to Jessica Musgraves, also an educator with TISD. He has an amazing stepdaughter Caroline, Nora a fun-loving Goldendoodle, and baby Hudson whom is on the way and expected to make his big arrival in July.
