The murder suspect that was the focus of a manhunt Saturday night August 6 was found dead on Sunday morning. The Bowie County Deputy that was shot by the suspect is in stable condition but your help is needed through a couple of different fundraisers.

Hector Alejandro Pintor Aguilar, 32 was suspected of shooting two people in Hooks. One of the victims died. According to a press release, Saturday night around 10:30 PM Lieutenant Lillis, a Bowie County Deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle close to the intersection of Highway 59 and South Kings Highway;

As Lt. Lillis approached the vehicle from the passenger side, he was shot in the face by the suspect. Witnesses observed the shooting and attempted to follow the suspect as he fled scene of the injured deputy. They were unable to maintain sight of Aguilar due to his erratic behavior. Life Net Ambulance personnel responded to Lt. Lillis along with all available area law enforcement

Aguilar was located at a vacant house on Roy Road (County Road 2206) using tracking dogs from the Telford Unit. As officers surrounded the house and attempted to communicate with Aguilar.

 Using tactical cameras, the Texas DPS tactical team were able to locate Aguilar in a specific room within the home. He did not respond to audio or visual stimuli, indicating he may already be deceased. Entry was made and Hector Alejandro Pintor Aguilar was confirmed deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

As for Lt. Scott Lillis, he was transferred to the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock. He is in stable condition.

Fundraisers for Scott and his Family

There will be a fundraiser at Walk-Ons on I-30 tomorrow (Wednesday August 10) . Walk-On’s will donate ALL profits from ALL sales in the restaurant or To Geaux for the entire day.

There will be another fundraiser for Lt. Lillis at On The Border in Texarkana on August 18 from 11 AM until 10 PM. 10% of the final sales from dine-in and take-out. There is also a Go Fund Me account set up as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lt. Lillis and his family.
