A very sad ending to a truly tragic story, the body of Specialist Bishop Evans was found this morning when teams resumed their search for the missing Texas National Guard soldier.

Evans went missing on Friday while trying to assist what he thought were two migrants attempting to cross the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass. When Evans saw the two were struggling to make it across he shucked his body armor and dove in to try to help them, in that process SPC Evans went under and never came back up. The two he went into the water to help, survived. We later learned through a Texas Ranger investigation, the two "migrants" turned out to be nothing more than drug smugglers, not people seeking a better life in the US.

Obviously, SPC Evans had no idea who they were or what they were doing, he simply saw two people in trouble,  tried to help them, and lost his life in the process.

We learned on Sunday that our hero was Specialist Bishop E. Evans, from Arlington, Texas, and was attached to A Battery, 4-133 Field Artillery Regiment in New Braunfels. Please keep SPC Evans' family and friends in your prayers along with all of our Texas National Guard on duty on our International border with Mexico, doing the job our Federal Government apparently refuses to do.

Rest In Peace SPC Evans, thank you for your service and sacrifice.
