The Texarkana Dragon Boat Race Festival is almost here. This is a fun event and it's for a great cause as it benefits HandsOn Texarkana and is presented by CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System.

The races and the festival will all take place at Bringle Lake in Texarkana.

The whole family will enjoy watching these big dragon boats race each other. There will also be vendor booths with art and crafts plus there will be food trucks with great food to purchase and live music.

All the fun gets started at 9 AM and goes until 4 PM. According to their website,
Each team will be racing in at least races. Two races in the morning then an afternoon race to determine the divisional champions.

Dragon Boat Racing has been around for over 2,000 years. These boats are a sight to see. They are 46 feet long and hold 20 rowers and a drummer to help the rowers stay in sync with each other. Texarkana held it's first  Dragon Boat Race and Festival back in 2016 and the event is getting bigger every year.
