2017 Season is Here For Both Texarkana’s Farmers Markets

One of the best things about this time of year is the fresh produce at farmers markets. In Texarkana we are fortunate to have not one both two farmers markets.

According to a press release the Texarkana Farmers Market on the Texas side of town at 305 Texas Boulevard is now open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7AM until items have sold out. Each Saturday features live music as well as weekly themes and activities for visitors to enjoy.

The complete Saturday schedule for the Farmers’ Market is as follows:

• May 6 – Ask the Experts!
• May 20 – Grand Opening
• May 27 – Healthy Living Series
• June 3 – Kids Day
• June 17 – Summer Celebration
• June 24 – Healthy Living Series
• July 1 – Freedom Celebration
• July 8 – Healthy Living Series
• July 15 – Night Market | 5:00 – 8:00 pm | Beer, Wine, Jazz and Everything Local
• July 29 – 8^th Annual Best Salsa in the Ark-La-Tex Contest | End of Market Celebration

Gateway Farmers Market on the Arkansas side of town located at the corner of Broad Street, East 9th and Jefferson near Downtown. Is open now as well. Open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7AM-12PM.

They've expanded as well with 8 more stalls. These are local growers and farmers from a 75 mile radius of Texarkana, AR. Local vegetables and Craft's. Farms are inspected.   According to their Facebook page, in-season produce include: strawberries, onions, greens, potatoes, swiss chard, cabbage, spinach, zucchini, beets, radishes, squash baked goods and crafts.
