Isn't it wonderful how scents bring back so many good memories? Can you smell it, fall is here.

Since the burn ban was lifted for Bowie County and weather has cooled off, the inevitable smells of fall are starting to drift around the area. Dried up limbs that have been patiently waiting are finding their way into burn barrels, leaves that have been falling now have a pile to go onto.

The grills are firing up again as hunters return with their bounty and we're all getting ready for feasting in less than a month.

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, it may not have anything directly to do with the smells of Autumn, but they are surely a part of it.

I love driving down a country road when the aroma of burning leaves fills my head with happy memories of my dad, or grandparents, or any one of a thousand terrific memories of childhood.

I hope you and your family get outside and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Happy Fall you all. Be safe, and burn baby burn.
