The Battle Between Old School and New School Begins in ‘Parental Guidance’
When my husband first suggested we watch the Blu-ray “Parental Guidance”, I initially thought it would be a real snore. After all, I normally go to sleep pretty quickly as I usually wind down around 9 p.m.
However, after watching just a few minutes of the film, I discovered I wanted to know more about the lives of Artie (Billy Crystal) and Diane (Bette Midler). They reminded me of so many grandparents I know who try very hard to relate to their grandchildren and are even willing to tackle learning this century’s new technology in an effort to be hip!
In this story, every scene portrays the divide between generations and how grandparents differ greatly from their kids in their approach to parenting. (I could really relate to Artie and Diane’s more “hands on” approach, since that was just how my folks handled things!)
Several of the scenes were so funny that I had tears streaming down my face. ‘Parental Guidance‘ is a hilarious, heart-wrenching story that reminds each parent that they are not perfect and that what really counts is being present for each milestone in your child’s life. Watch the following trailer for a sneak peak.
