Name The Song From This Adidas British Olympics Sneaker Commercial.
Although the 2012 London Olympics are now in the rear-view mirror, a new commercial from Adidas lets the spirit of the the games live on. The commercial features several star athletes from Great Britain rocking out to Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now.’
The uplifting anthem provides the musical landscape for this fun, upbeat commercial honoring the Olympic spirit. Team Great Britain medalists including track and field athlete Jessica Ennis, cyclist Sir Chris Hoy and many others are shown lip synching to the song, with some pretty convincing performances.
Even former Manchester United (and current L.A. Galaxy) football (soccer) player David Beckham makes an appearance in the video, acting as the producer by signaling the start and end of the video.
‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ was featured on Queen’s seventh album, 1978′s ‘Jazz.’ It spawned four singles including ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ and ‘Bicycle Race.’
London paid homage to Queen’s late frontman during the closing ceremony of this year’s Olympics as well, with a giant image of Freddie Mercury appearing in the arena, firing up the crowd. Mercury warmed them up before guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor took over, powering through renditions of ‘Brighton Rock and ‘We Will Rock You.’ Even in televised form, Mercury was one of the highlights of the show.
