On a recent broadcast trip to the wonderful Sandals Emerald Bay Golf, Tennis & Spa Resort in Exuma Bahamas, I got to visit with some of the local school kids and deliver some much needed supplies.

The Sandals Foundation is a fantastic non-profit organization that aims to use their internationally recognized brand to have a positive and sustainable impact on the lives of people and the environment in the Caribbean.

I was blessed to participate in the foundation's "Pack for a Purpose" program and packed some much needed school supplies on my recent trip to Exuma, Bahamas and delivered my goods to the children of Roker's Point Primary School. I was fortunate to have some time to read and play around a little bit too.

The Sandals Foundation focuses its programs in the areas of Education, Environment, and Community.

With the environment, the Foundation has invested in marine sanctuaries, preserving the biodiversity of the Caribbean waters and educates fishermen in Jamaica on the importance of helping to preserve marine life. The Foundation also funds the protection of endangered species in the Caribbean. Environmental education is at the forefront of the Foundation's mission.

For community, the Foundation has created a number of initiatives that impact local communities, including skills training, engaging local youth through sports, annual Christmas drives, building and maintaining community centers and many medical programs designed to improve access to proper health services.

With education, the Foundation has worked with a total of 98 schools across the Caribbean with a goal of raising each school to a higher standard so that the young minds can flourish.

Since the Sandals Foundation's inception, it has impacted more that 268,241 lives across eight islands in the Caribbean with more than 300 projects and programs.
