Showdown at Sunset
Visit the El Dorado Courthouse on the last Saturday of each month this summer to witness the re-enactment of the infamous Parnell-Tucker gunfight.
In 1902 in El Dorado, Ark. city Marshal Guy Tucker confronted his rivals, the Parnell brothers. In the blink of an eye, gunfire left the three guys dead and others wounded. The city of El Dorado re-enacts this infamous gunfight on the last Saturday of each month this summer beginning June 29.
This event was named one of the Top-100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association and received the Community Trademark Award by the Arkansas Festival & Event Association. Every person attending the show receives a free Showdown at Sunset souvenir program and trading card.
Come at 6 p.m. to enjoy live music and the showdown begins at 6:30 p.m. You won’t want to miss a cast of area actors portray this epic event. Bring your kids and they will be able to meet Woody and Jessie from Toy Story. The Showdown will be followed by a street dance with Windstorm from Shreveport.
