Alicia Guastaferro is notorious for being one of the least likable reality TV stars of all time (which is saying something considering the competition). In a 2008 appearance on ‘Wife Swap’ she was spoiled by her parents who leave their Christmas tree up all year and shower her daily with gifts (during the show she received a Chevy Tahoe as one present). Later, the local beauty queen would tell the cameras, “I do feel sorry for people that are not gorgeous people.”
If you’re up for a little schadenfreude, Guastaferro was arrested this week and charged with prostitution, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (i.e., drugs) and criminal impersonation.
We had planning on starting fresh this week; moving on from the Colorado movie theater tragedy and returning to coverage of movies and television. But one more thing before we proceed. Let’s take a moment to meet the victims and remember all who died far too soon.
President Barack Obama was scheduled to speak this morning at a campaign stop in Fort Myers, Florida. Instead of speaking about his upcoming re-election campaign, he instead delivered a speech on the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
After the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ shooting that left 12 people dead and another 50 injured, theaters across the country are addressing security concerns as sold-out crowds return to theaters for the weekend.
Andy Griffith, the legendary TV actor behind ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ and ‘Matlock,’ died this morning at the age of 86. An ambulance was called to his North Carolina home this morning and the star was pronounced dead a short time later.
For all you high school seniors about to head off to college after this summer, you may be nervous about the new experience or sad that you’re leaving your hometown friends behind, but let me tell you this: college is awesome. You will have a lot of fun. And if you’re anything like the students at The California Institute of the Arts, you’ll get to see ‘Community‘ star Alison Brie walk around naked.
The 2012 Oscars managed to include the expected and shocks all at the same time. Odds on favorite, ‘The Artist’, won five awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Jean Dujardin and Best Director for Michel Hazanivicius. But ‘Hugo’ gave it a run for its money, also bringing home five awards (though none in the major categories).
