‘Shazam’ Star Dwayne Johnson Teases Role as “Anti-Hero” Black Adam
Back in September, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed through Twitter that he’s signed on to play the villainous Black Adam role in DC’s upcoming ‘Shazam’ movie. We’d been hearing rumors for a while that Johnson was getting in on the superhero business, and casting him as Black Adam is a rather inspired choice. But don’t expect Johnson to play a straightforward bad guy: the actor just teased some more hints about his “anti-hero” character.
Was ‘Frozen 2’ Basically Just Confirmed by Elsa Herself?
‘Frozen’ was a huge hit: financially (it is the number one animated film of all time), commercially (can someone please tell my neighbors to stop watching YouTube videos of toddlers singing “Let It Go” already?), and critically. A sequel is all but guaranteed, although we haven’t gotten legitimate confirmation from Disney on a release date or firm plans for ‘Frozen 2' just yet—only a short film called ‘Frozen Fever,’ hitting theaters next Spring. Every time a cast member from the film is interviewed, the subject of a sequel has to come up, and it seems like maybe Idina Menzel—the voice of Elsa—may have just sort of confirmed a sequel on behalf of Disney. Oops?
Jake Gyllenhaal’s ‘Southpaw’ Transformation Is Truly Astonishing
When actors transform for a role, we take notice (and most of the time, so does that little golden statue named Oscar). Christian Bale in ‘The Machinist,’ Matthew McConaughey in ‘Dallas Buyers Club,’ Charlize Theron in ‘Monster,’ Christian Bale in the ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy, etc. Jake Gyllenhaal recently joined the club when he dropped 25 pounds to play the sociopathic Lou Bloom in ‘Nightcrawler,’ and now he’s at it again with his incredible transformation for his next film, Antoine Fuqua’s ‘Southpaw.’

UPDATE: ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ Trailer Will Debut in Theaters Thanksgiving Weekend
There have been a lot of reports regarding the trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’ Just last week, news surfaced that Disney planned to attach the first teaser trailer to screenings of ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,’ which seemed to confirm an earlier rumor, while Disney reps said they had “bigger plans” for their official debut. And now another report has surfaced, claiming that we’ll see the first teaser in theaters as soon as this coming Thanksgiving week. Madness!
‘Jurassic World’ Teaser Promises to Deliver Our First Trailer on Thanksgiving Day
A few days ago, the YouTube page for Universal Spain posted memorable footage of the cup of water vibrating from ‘Jurassic Park’ as a teaser for ‘Jurassic World,’ which seemed pretty curious. But today brings our first official footage from ‘Jurassic World’ in the form of a far more awesome teaser for the trailer, which will hit the web on Thanksgiving day. If that’s not something to be thankful for, what is?
‘Bond 24’ Appropriately Casts Christoph Waltz in the Role of James Bond Villain
It was only a matter of time before Christoph Waltz, perpetual movie bad guy, was cast as a James Bond villain. Always the bridesmaid! Although we know the real villain in the next James Bond film, aka 'Bond 24,' is clearly the lack of an official title -- the film, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2016 and has already begun casting (obviously) and we have no title. Is 'Bond 24' too unprofessional? Is 'The Force Awakens' already taken?
‘Suicide Squad’ Eyes Jared Leto to Play The Joker
A few weeks back, we heard that Ryan Gosling went in to meet about a possible role in WB's 'Suicide Squad' film, but it wasn't clear which role that might have been, as details about which characters might be featured in the movie are still a mystery. According to the latest report, Jared Leto is now up for that role -- and that role could very well be The Joker, Batman's longtime nemesis.
‘Minions’ Trailer: The ‘Despicable Me’ Sidekicks Search for a New Master
The first full trailer for 'Minions' has arrived, highlighting the little yellow, gibberish-speaking sidekicks from 'Despicable Me,' who are getting their very own prequel/origin story. Set 42 years B.G. (Before Gru), the lovable little yellow goofballs are on a quest to find their next master after a series of mishaps throughout the years has left them without a leader.
’50 Shades of Grey’ Won’t Feature Any Male Nudity, So Who Is This Movie For Anyway?
One of the great celebratory moments of 2014 was seeing Ben Affleck nude in 'Gone Girl' (and a little bit of Neil Patrick Harris too, if you were paying attention). It's not as if us women are male-nudity-starved, craven maniacs just salivating for a glimpse of wang or something, but with all the rampant female nudity and objectification that permeates pop culture, it's nice to see a little equality. So it's disheartening to hear that Jamie Dornan will not be appearing fully nude in '50 Shades of Grey,' as if that movie needed another reason to be avoided.
‘SNL’ Veteran Jan Hooks Passes Away at 57
We've got some sad news today as we've learned that Jan Hooks, former star of 'Saturday Night Live,' has passed away at the age of 57. Hooks, who was a member of the cast from 1986 to 1991, also starred on the hit sitcom 'Designing Women,' and more recently played Jenna's mom on episodes of '30 Rock.'
Here’s 10 Vampire Movies That Truly Suck
'Dracula Untold' is hitting theaters this weekend*, and truth be, uh, told, it doesn't look that great. But it could be worse -- a whole lot worse. Cinema has a rich history with blood-suckers, and thanks to the over-saturation in the genre, it's quite rare to see a great vampire film. For every good one, there's at least 10 not-so-good vampire flicks. Honestly, it was hard to choose just 10 because there are some real stinkers out there. As a disclaimer, we kept 'Twilight' out of this because it was just a little too obvious. We all know it's awful, we don't need to beat a dead sparkle-horse.
*Does Dracula's story really need to be told again? Yeah, dude, we get it.
