Winter Weather Returns to Arkansas & Parts of Texas Today & Tonight
Is this one last hurrah for Mr. Winter? It looks like it as the forecast now is showing that the entire state of Arkansas will most likely see some snow.
Winter Advisory for Arkansas and parts of Texas. The National Weather Service is calling for:
Accumulating snow is still in the forecast across much of Arkansas Friday/Friday night. One to three inches of accumulation is expected in the Ozark Mountains, with up to two inches in the Ouachitas and parts of the northeast. Most of us will have an inch or less of snow.
Here's a rundown of the forecasts for Friday around the state:
Fayetteville, Ar
You'll see periods of snow today. High near 31. 90% chance of precipitation. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.
Mountain View, Ar
There's a 70% Rain early then turning to snow after 3 pm. With snow into Friday night. New snow accumulation is less than half an inch. Friday nights low down to 17
Jonesboro & West Memphis, Ar
Jonesboro -You won't see snow until Friday after 5 pm with very little accumulation but by tonight you could see between up to 1 inch of snow. Overnight lovew19
West Memphis -70% after 5 PM then tuning to snow after 7 PM up to 1 to 2 inches. overnight low 22
Little Rock & Hot Springs
You will see more rain through the day Friday but rain is expected to turn to snow after 4 pm. Less than an inch of snow is possible during the day and up to an inch tonight with overnight lows of 21.
Mena
Rain turning to snow & sleet after 1 PM Friday. With 1 to possible 3 inches of snow then tonight less than I inch. . Overnight low down to 20.
El Dorado & Prescott
Texarkana, Dequeen, Prescott,
80% Rain between noon and 3 PM then changing to rain and snow after 3 pm. Snow showers tonight. Up to 1 inch is expected. Overnight temperatures down to around 24.
Due to the possibility of the wintry mix Friday night in the Texarkana area TxDOT crews across the Atlanta District will be pretreating bridges and overpasses on Thursday and Friday as a precautionary measure. Crews will also be on standby Friday night.
North and North East Texas will look like this:
Winter Advisory today and tonight for the marked areas in Texas. Sleet and snow with some areas up to 1/2 an inch of accumulation.
