Tragic Accident Claims Two Lives in Texarkana

An accident involving a log truck and a vehicle has claimed the lives of two elderly people.

Texarkana Texas Police say the deadly accident occurred around 7:30PM Wednesday evening in Liberty-Eylau. The accident occurred at the Intersection of Highway 59 and Buchanan Road, when authorities say the driver of the car attempted a left turn and was struck by the northbound log truck.

Police say a passenger in the car, 82 year old  Norma Ware was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, 84 year old Lawrence Ware of Atlanta, Texas was taken to a local hospital and also later died of his injuries.

The driver of the log truck, 60 year old Willis Walker of Ogden, Arkansas was taken to the hospital and treated and released.
