Texarkana Sesquicentennial

A large number of Texarkana residents showed up on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Sheppard Park, adjacent to the U.S. Post Office to witness the opening of a time capsule that was buried there 50 years ago.

There's a huge festival going on in historic downtown Texarkana this weekend hosted by the TXK 150 Committee. The celebration is the Texarkana Sesquicentennial 150th Anniversary. Not only will you learn about Texarkana's history over the past 150 years but the most anticipated event is the unearthing of a time capsule that was buried in the ground 50 years ago...

The Texarkana Museums System has some wonderful programs this year as we celebrate Texarkana's Sesquicentennial. A program coming up this month is no exception. It's all about hairstyles back in the early days of Texarkana.

A new season of Texarkana Twilight Tours begins Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Texarkana's Sesquicentennial continues all year as we have the chance to learn about the history of our great town. TXK150 along with the Texarkana Museum Systems will present a special program that will look back in time and the history of one of Texarkana's famous postcards.

It's 2023 and now it's time to kick off the celebrations throughout the year for Texarkana's Sesquicentennial. The Texarkana Museums System will be hosting the  Sesquicentennial Stone Soup this Saturday, January 7.
