Congratulations to four art students who received Art scholarships at SAU and two of them are from the Texarkana area! One from Texarkana and the other is from just down the road in Atlanta, Texas.

The new year is looking up for students at Southern Arkansas University as they welcomed students back to campus for the Spring Semester 2021. Rest assured that while safety guidelines are being followed SAU has some big plans this semester as both hybrid and in-person classes began Wednesday, Jan. 13.

It's been a fun summer tradition for kids and teens every summer and there are big hopes that this summer the Mulerider Kids and Teen Colleges will be in-person at Southern Arkansas University. Last year the MKC and MTC were virtual and they were a big success.

It's been a crazy and challenging year with the pandemic and with the Christmas season cupon us, Southern Arkansas University continues to serve their area with holiday traditions by reaching out to the ones in most need in the area.

It's almost graduation time at SAU. Southern Arkansas University’s fall 2020 commencement ceremony will take place Saturday, Nov. 21, at Wilkins Stadium starting at 9AM.

It's good to see that the pandemic hasn't hindered the quest for knowledge and education. With increased graduate enrollment and new and growing programs, the Southern Arkansas University System saw higher enrollment numbers this fall in spite of the negative trends caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here's a great way for students at Southern Arkansas University to earn college credits between semesters this year. SAU is offering a five-week fall intersession in December with a wide variety of courses so students will be able to earn credits during their winter break.

COVID-19 still continues to change things for universities. Southern Arkansas University announced that they will still waive the ACT and SAT composite score requirements for freshman admissions through fall 2021 entrance. The students will still need to meet other academic requirements.

Southern Arkansas University is going above and beyond when it comes to fighting the coronavirus pandemic. The University made the decision early on to purchase two Rapid Testing machines over the summer which has given them a big advantage this fall in against COVID-19.

COVID-19 has put a stop to a lot of things but not so for the enrollment at SAU. You might even think there wasn't a pandemic going on at all!
