A public memorial for Lou Reed has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon in New York City at the Paul Milstein Pool & Terrace located at Lincoln Center. The three-hour event, which will begin at 1 p.m. ET, will feature a variety of the influential rockers' recordings.

There is now a confirmation of the cause of Lou Reed’s death. It has been revealed that the Velvet Underground and solo star died at his home on Long Island yesterday (Oct. 27) of an ailment that stemmed from his recent liver transplant.
