  Governor Greg Abbott late Wednesday announced the third phase of the State of Texas’ plan to safely open the economy while containing the spread of COVID-19. Under Phase III, effective immediately, all businesses in Texas will be able to operate at up to 50% capacity, with very limited exceptions. Bowie County Emergency Operations Center reports a total of 157 positive COVID-19 cases, with 88 recoveries and now 13 related deaths. Cass County has a total of 32 with 27 recoveries and 1 death. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice reports 111 positive cases at the Barry B. Telford Unit. Miller County has 49 total cases, 7 active positive cases, 757 negative results, 41 recovered, 1 death. (

Phase 3 of Texas Drivers License Offices re-opening is this Wednesday, June 3 and Texarkana and New Boston DL Offices are included. However, strict rules and procedures must be followed.
