Ron Howard Shares Set Photo From His First Day on ‘Han Solo’
Ron Howard is a very capable director who knows how to position a camera and capture a powerful image. But I also have a sneaking suspicion that maybe Ron Howard isn’t great at social media or taking casual phone pics. He seems like the type of dad who accidentally snaps a selfie when attempting to take a shot of a sunset, or butt-Facetimes his family. Just look at his latest Twitter photo.
On Thursday, Howard tweeted a photo and called it “the most revealing image” from his first day taking the reins on the Han Solo movie. And the photo is, of course, the least revealing shot imaginable – an image of his feel and a half-empty case of water bottles.
Clearly, Ron Howard was trying to take a pic of Alden Ehrenreich in his Solo costume, or at the very least Donald Glover‘s young Lando chillin in the Millennium Falcon. He’s just such a dad he forgot to reverse the camera and accidentally tweeted the wrong photo! Now it’s out there in the world with thousands of retweets and likes, so he’s just sticking to his story.
Earlier this week we finally learned some more detailes on what happened with Phil Lord and Chris Miller‘s exit from the still-untitled Han Solo movie. A piece from The Hollywood Reporter gave new insight into the creative “deeply fundamental philosophical differences“ in filmmaking styles between the LEGO Movie directors and Lucasfilm. The Beautiful Mind director quickly saddled up and took over for the film, which was already deep into production.
Hopefully we’ll see some actual revealing photos (or really just anything but feet) from Howard’s set in the months to come. At least give us a look at Phoebe Waller-Bridge‘s droid or what Emilia Clarke looks like when not hanging out with dragons. Han Solo, which also stars Woody Harrelson, will arrive in theaters May 25, 2018.
