Giraffe Inn and Safari New Boston, Texas Opens June 1
Are you ready for a safari adventure? The Giraffe Inn and Safari in New Boston. Texas is opening on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Giraffe Inn and Safari
Tony Dierolf and his wife Tiffany are the proud owners of the Giraffe Inn and Safari they have taken their lifelong dream and poured their heart and soul into over 1000 acres in the rural East Texas countryside with hopes of sharing their dream come true with other families from every walk of life.
You smile the moment you set foot on their property because you can tell how much hard labor and love went into transforming this beautiful piece of land into something special.
Inspired by their faith, The Dierolfs set out on a mission to offer its guests a unique opportunity to not only connect with the animals in their natural habitat but to stay in a comfy safari inn with a four-by-four window to see and feed the giraffes up close from your room.
There are 8 beautifully safari-themed rooms tastefully decorated to replicate the feeling of the great outdoors.
If you prefer you can stay at The Lodge Bed and Breakfast with plenty of day events enjoying time to see all the animals on the property.
When I took a tour of the property I talked with Tony he said, "This is about getting away from the everyday rigors of a stress-filled life and just relaxing and unplugging for a day or a week".
“Here, the wilderness is your neighbor, and giraffes roam freely, visible right from your room.”
While giraffes may be the feature attraction they have other animals too like the water buffalo, kangaroos, fennec foxes, watusi, sloths, lemurs, porcupines, camels, zebras, wildebeest, red stag, and various deer and antelope roam the free range. They also have a petting zoo where you might see a baby animal or two.
If you want a total animal experience you can feed the kangaroos like the owner Tony aka Doctor Dolittle.
Tifanny just loves her kangaroo friend.
There are nature trails for hiking and even fishing on the private lake you can see from the Giraffe Inn and Safari.
One of the things I loved when I got a sneak peek was the old-time Chuck Wagon Dining, all the food was cooked in iron kettles and skillets, Dutch oven style.
The head wagon master rustled up some smothered pork chops in gravy, roasted potatoes, and chocolate lava cake for dessert.
The campsite atmosphere was awesome with tables and chairs for visiting guests.
Tony and Tiffany say The Giraffe Inn and Safari are already planning educational programs, workshops, and specialty camps to focus on preservation. Find out more on their website here.
