Texarkana Police need your help in locating a man who fled from officers over the weekend.

Saturday night, police were called about hearing gunshots fired in the area of 35th Street and County Avenue in Texarkana, Arkansas. There were two officers already in the area so they were able to get to the location quickly. When Sgt. Phillips and Det. Thornell arrived they saw a vehicle that is allegedly known to be connected with a recent shooting incident.

The officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the car's driver allegedly refused to pull over and fled the area, prompting the police to pursue in a high-speed chase.

The chase ended with the suspect losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a fence located on Jefferson Avenue. The occupants in the vehicle got out and fled the scene on foot. Officers searched the area but were not able to find any of the suspects.

The Crime Suppression Team identified the driver as Gary Nichols. A felony warrant has been issued for him for fleeing by vehicle with risk of serious injury or death.
