This Friday there will be two big events a performance by the Texarkana Winds on the loading platform of the Gallery at 1894 starting at 7:30 PM, the concert is free. The Texarkana Winds will perform a patriotic-themed concert in front of the Gallery at 1894 on Olive Street.

“We are so excited to be performing,” says conductor Dick Eckstein. “Texarkana Winds is a newly refashioned community band with many talented musicians, eager to play for the community.”

Downtown Live will feature artists and musicians all along Broad, Front, and surrounding streets sharing their talent with the public. Due to the heat, many will be performing inside downtown businesses.

The Lofts at the Grim Tours

The other specialty event is Tours of the newly renovated Grim Hotel on State Line Avenue from 6 PM to 9 PM.

The Lofts at the Grim will conduct tours of the beautiful 100-year-old building. The Hotel Grim was built to be a modern, luxury hotel offering all the amenities technology could offer during that time in Texarkana. The Lofts at the Grim will soon be complete, so this tour will be the last time the Grim Hotel is accessible to the public before the formal grand opening.
