Texarkana Lands $2M Grant to Fuel Business Growth and Workforce Development
Here's some great news for our area. The City of Texarkana, Texas, just announced that it will receive a $2 million grant to boost local economic development, workforce growth, and expansion of businesses in our area.
The grant comes from the T.L.L. Temple Foundation and the grant awarded will go to three of the city's programs: The Assembly Line, Pitch-it Texarkana and REDI Set Move-Texarkana.

The Assembly Line is a hub where small business owners, along with creative people, inventors and entrepreneurs can come together for workspace, resources, mentoring and more.
Pitch-It Texarkana (under The Assembly Line umbrella) is the annual competition that awards up to $10,000 to local entrepreneurs with either business ideas, products or services. Contestants have 3 minutes to 'pitch' their idea to a panel of local judges.
REDI Set Move-Texarkana is a recruitment program that focuses on enticing full-time remote and self-employed people to relocate to our area. The program offers $5,000 in relocation incentives, plus free or discounted tuition and courses at A&M-Texarkana and at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, along with other perks too.
David Orr, the Texarkana, Texas City Manager, said in a press release,
This grant allows us to accelerate entrepreneurship programs in a way that directly benefits local talent and strengthens our regional economy.
