Arkansas Twister Shutting Down

According to KARK-TV, the Arkansas Twister is shutting down permanently. The wooden roller coaster was relocated from a theme park in Florida to Magic Springs in 1992. One of the main features of the coaster was its 92-foot drop with speeds up to 50 miles per hour. When you talk with roller coaster enthusiasts they will tell you the thrill of riding a wooden roller coaster is different from riding a steel roller coaster. I know from experience it's a much rougher ride but still a lot of fun.

According to Magic Springs Park officials, they are retiring the ride but have no plans to tear it down anytime soon or for the foreseeable future. For years the marquee coaster has been a permanent fixture for the backdrop of the beautiful Ouachita Mountains and will continue to be, just not operational anymore. The park is working on a special tribute at its entrance when Magic Springs opens for the 2025 season on May 3.

About The Arkansas Twister

The Arkansas Twister was once called the "Roaring Tiger" when it became a top attraction at Circus World a theme park in Davenport, Florida in 1978.

What's that saying, "All Good Things Must Come To An End" but never forgotten in my book?

Meanwhile, visitors can enjoy other thrilling coasters such as the X-Coaster, The Gauntlet, The Hawk, Big Bad John, or the Plummet Summit.
