4 Traffic Stops Net ASP Over 300 Pounds of Illegal Narcotics
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) continued their crackdown on State Highways and byways, these four traffic stops in Crawford County brought in over 300 pounds of pot plus quite an assortment of other illegal narcotics.
Mile Marker 5:
VAN BUREN, Ark. — On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at approximately 6:45 AM, Arkansas State Police Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a rented gray 2024 Nissan Kicks traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 near the 5-mile marker in Crawford County. A search of the vehicle led troopers to uncover 22 one-pound packages of illegal marijuana and 170 pre-rolled marijuana joints.
The driver, 36-year-old Delavontay Davis of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and passenger, 29-year-old Tedra Hendricks of Columbia, S.C., were arrested and taken to the Crawford County Detention Center. Both individuals were booked on felony charges, including Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Davis informed investigators that he was traveling from California to Nashville, Tenn.
Mile Marker 3:
Later that same day, at approximately 2:39 PM, ASP Troopers stopped a 2023 white Subaru Crosstrek at the 3-mile marker on I-40 eastbound for a traffic violation. Upon searching the vehicle, troopers found 16 pounds of illegal marijuana and over a pound of methamphetamine, along with various drug paraphernalia.
The driver, Doyle Dunn, 45, of Alexander, Ark., was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Detention Center. He faces felony charges, including Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession with Purpose to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Dunn reported to investigators that he was returning from a trip to California.
Mile Marker 5... Again:
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, around 1:18 p.m., ASP Troopers pulled over a white 2022 Chrysler Pacifica for a traffic violation on I-40 eastbound near the 5-mile marker. During a search, troopers discovered 11 large duffel bags containing approximately 258 pounds of illegal marijuana and multiple vacuum-sealed bags of THC products. Additionally, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle.
The driver, Mikie Rose, 66, of Hastings, Fla., was arrested and taken to the Crawford County Detention Center. She faces felony charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Rose stated that she was en route from California to Florida.
Mile Marker 4
On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., ASP Troopers stopped a rented 2022 white Jeep Grand Cherokee on I-40 eastbound near the 4-mile marker for a traffic violation. A search of the vehicle revealed a suitcase containing 8 pounds of high-grade, illegal marijuana.
The driver, David Franklin, 43, of Eden, N.C., was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Detention Center, where he was booked on a felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Franklin informed investigators he was traveling from California to North Carolina.
