
Person of Interest Held in Ash Flat, Arkansas Double Homicide
A man identified as a "person of interest" in a recent double homicide in Ash Flat, Arkansas, has been taken into custody following a coordinated law enforcement effort across multiple agencies.
Capture Follows Multi-Agency Investigation
According to the Arkansas State Police (ASP), 38-year-old Jacob Lowell Smith was apprehended without incident around 8 PM Tuesday, October 28, at an abandoned trailer east of Oak Grove Heights in Greene County. The operation involved the ASP Criminal Investigation Division, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, the Paragould Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Smith Held on a 'Parole Absconder Warrant'
Smith was wanted as a parole absconder and is currently being held at the Greene County Detention Center on that warrant while investigators continue to examine his possible connection to the deaths of Tonya Stallings, 54, and Ashley Stallings, 33, both of Ash Flat.

Investigation Began with Fulton County Deputies’ Discovery
The investigation began on October 21 when Fulton County deputies were called to a home on Sweet Clover Lane after reports of an unresponsive person. Deputies found the two women deceased inside the residence. Their bodies were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause and manner of death.
Arkansas State Police CID Leading Ongoing Case
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division, which is leading the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not announced any charges in connection with the deaths, and Smith remains considered a person of interest at this time.
