UAHT Encourages Students to Apply Now for the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship
Students planning to attend the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana next year are encouraged to begin the financial aid process early by applying for the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship (ACST). The program helps Arkansas residents reduce the cost of college, whether they’re recent high school graduates, current college students, or adults returning to the classroom.

Who Can Apply?
The scholarship is open to both traditional and non-traditional students.
- Traditional applicants—typically incoming freshmen—can qualify with an ACT composite or superscore of 19 or higher, an approved equivalent test score, or a 3.0 high school GPA (or diploma of merit). Full-time enrollment at an eligible Arkansas college is required.
- Non-traditional applicants may qualify with at least a 2.5 GPA from previous college coursework. Those without prior college experience can still qualify with an ACT or equivalent test score. Part-time students may be eligible for prorated awards.
Once awarded, the scholarship renews annually as long as students maintain required enrollment levels and meet GPA expectations.
Check Out The Portal And Get Started
The application deadline for the upcoming academic year is July 1, and all applications must be submitted through the Arkansas Department of Higher Education’s SAMS portal.
