The month of May means it's graduation time and Texas A&M University - Texarkana is ready for the spring graduation ceremonies this Saturday, May,10, with over 260 students ready to walk across the stage and graduate.

Over 260 Graduates to Be Celebrated in Two Saturday Ceremonies in Texarkana

The university is hosting two ceremonies with the first one at 9 AM for the undergrads in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education, the College of Nursing, Health and Human Services and the School of Professional Education and Community Engagement.

The second ceremony is scheduled to start at 11:30 AM for the undergrads in the College of Business Engineering and Technology, plus all of the graduate students.  Tickets are required to attend the event but there will also be an area of overflow seating in Eagle Hall and livestreaming will be available at tamut.edu/live

The ceremonies will both be held in the gym at the Lois & Cary Patterson Student Center on campus

This year's event will include a greeting from A&M Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander.

Congressman Moran to Deliver Commencement Address at A&M-Texarkana

The commencement address will be held by Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who said he is honored to speak. He stated in a press release,

This university is home to some of the brightest students in the country... I look forward to sending them off to answer their individual calling and to leave a legacy marked by humility, nobility, and integrity.

 

Other speakers include Amanda Dotson, Chief Auditor for the Texas A&M University System and Dr. Jim Worthen, Provost and Senior VP of Academic Affairs.
