Antonieta Robles Saouda, 25, was arrested for the caper. She had showed up at the prison with her daughter to visit her boyfriend, Ibrain Jose Vargas Garcia, in the hopes they would all leave together, with Garcia smushed in the suitcase like an oversized “Cancun” sweatshirt you wedge into your bag when coming home from vacation.
Unfortunately, her plan unfolded easily when guards, noticing Saouda was having trouble carrying the bag, looked through it and found Garcia, who’s doing a decade-long sentence for car theft.
The daughter was taken into temporary custody by officials, while Garcia was sent back to his cell and Saouda was cuffed. We’re guessing she’s looking at more than just one day and Samosonite in the slammer for this crime.
