Yesterday the big news was David Letterman announcing that he will retire sometime next year, so who do you think should replace him?

There are name flying all over the place for his replacement.

TVLine.com came out with a big old list including: Stephen Colbert, Chelsea Handler, Jon Stewart, Craig Ferguson, Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Patrick Harris, Tina Fey, Kevin Hart, Louis C.K., Jerry Seinfeld, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno.

Others have suggested Joan Rivers, Wanda Sykes, Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Poehler,  Andy Cohen and Ryan Seacrest.

Um, Jay Leno? Now wouldn't that be strange! Letterman wanted Leno's job taking the hosting duties from Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show. There has never been any love loss between David Letterman and Jay Leno. I have a feeling that if Leno was up for the gig then David would all of a sudden decide NOT to retire!

So, really who should step into David Letterman's shoes once he retires?
