Whitney Houston Dead at 48

Whitney Houston has reportedly died at the age of 48.  Houston was often referred to as the Queen of Pop in the 80's and 90's, until years of drug use, wild behavior, and a violent marriage to Bobby Brown really changed her image for many.

Houston launched what all thought would be a successful comeback in 2009 with the album "I Look To You".  The album debuted in the top of the charts and went platinum, but things soon went south.  She did a concert for "Good Morning America" and sounded terrible. She then launched a World Tour overseas.  She performed terribly, and couldn't hit the high notes...fans walked out of her shows.  The diminished ability to perform, and multiple show cancellations increased suspicions that she may have lost her magic for good.

Her publicist Karen Foster confirmed that Whitney Houston had died, but did not disclose a cause or location of her passing.
