Leadership Texarkana Class of 2018 Focuses the Community on What’s To Love about Texarkana USA with Literal Ground-Breaking and Growth-Inspiring Tree Plantings on Monday, November 19 at 3PM at Bobby Ferguson Park and on Tuesday, November 20 at 9:30AM at Spring Lake Park. Please join us to share this event with the community.

To focus the community on What’s to Love about Texarkana USA, Leadership Texarkana's graduating class of 2018 will be planting trees at Bobby Ferguson and Spring Lake Parks as a symbolic gesture of their continued efforts to grow the Texarkana, USA region. It is all part of a BigLIFT movement to GoTXK, launched at Leadership Texarkana’s Fall Party on October 9th to mobilize citizens in naming and claiming our community’s numerous treasures and resources.

Sharing What's to Love about TXK through use of the social media hashtag goTXK, and promoting subscriptions to the weekly What’s to Love Texarkana enews at GoTXK.org, are the two pillars of this community-wide effort to generate ever more positive self-talk and regional self-love by recognizing all of the wonderful aspects of Texarkana and its residents.

Teams that come in first are built on a commitment to excellence and pride and celebrate the benefits that come with it. Communities are no different: Texarkana is a community of excellence that can claim more superlatives than most other communities our size; through GoTXK we challenge everyone who wants to help build OUR pride and best future to step up to claim and share What’s to Love in Texarkana USA.

The trees being planted were generously donated to the LT Class by Freeman’s and Twitty Nurseries, and were incorporated into the festivities the evening of the GoTXK public launch, with an opportunity for all to get their hands dirty in being part of growing our community.
