These people served our country honorably and bravely during the long Vietnam War and it's our hope you will honor these courageous service men and women. The Vietnam Veterans of America #278 in Texarkana is hosting a " Welcome Home" to all Vietnam Veterans on Monday, March 30. The event will take place starting at 6 p.m. at the Korean/Vietnam Memorial at Seventh Street and State Line Avenue in downtown Texarkana.

Vietnam Veterans Day is a day of remembrance that is here to stay. In Vietnam it was on March 29, 1973 and in the United States it was on March 30, 1973 that all U.S. ground troops were withdrawn from South Vietnam.

As part of the 50th anniversary observance of the Vietnam War, the local chapter wants all of our local Vietnam veterans to know we are proud of them and their service to our great country during that long and deadly war.

All Vietnam era veterans and their families are welcome to attend. All service members, whether having served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or National Guard, we are proud of your service to country.
