Walmart Stores Trashed After EBT Card Computer Glitch [VIDEO]
What would you do if your credit credit gave you unlimited funds due to a computer error? Two Walmart stores in Springhill and Mansfield La., allowed unlimited purchasing for food stamp recipients on Saturday because of a computer glitch.
Once the cards didn't show limits at check out, the stores called corporate whose spokesman said to let the people use the cards anyway. The police were called to handle the influx of people loading up their carts from 7 to 9 p.m.
Around 9 p.m., the cards began showing the correct purchasing power. At that time, one woman was held by police because she tried to purchase $700 worth of goods with 49 cents on her card. Corporate Walmart stated they wouldn't press charges if she left the goods.
Afterward, one Mansfield Walmart customer said to MSN,"Just about everything is gone. I've never seen it in that condition." Hopefully within a short amount of time, the shelves will be restocked in both Walmart stores.
