Wow, hard to believe that Paul McCartney is 71? No, that can’t be right? I’ve been a Beatle fan since I was 6 years old. The Beatles had already broken up, but I didn’t care.

My favorite Beatle has always been Paul. I love all the Beatles, but there is something about Paul!

People ask me what is my favorite Beatle song or Paul McCartney song…tough question! As soon as I say one, then I think of another song, then another!

I will say my very first favorite song was Hey Jude. I was only about 3 when it came out on the radio, but yes I remember it and I remember loving it!!

Another favorite, the B-side of the single Help…I’m Down. This one really should have been an A-side!

My favorite Paul McCartney song of all time really has to be Mull of Kintyre. The song, released in November of 1977, was  the first single to sell over two million copies in the UK and according to Wikipedia:

was the UK’s best-selling single of all-time (passing The Beatles‘ own “She Loves You“) until overtaken by Band Aid‘s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” in 1984 (which also featured McCartney on the B-Side). The song remains the UK’s best-selling completely non-charity single. (Queen‘s “Bohemian Rhapsody” has sold more in its two releases, but the profits of the 1991 release went to charity.)^[4]

Mere weeks after we learned NBC’s darkly delicious ‘Hannibal‘ would return for a second season in 2014, “Fannibals” have something new to celebrate in advance of this Thursday’s finale “Savoureux.” Comic-Con 2013 attendees can look forward to ‘Hannibal’ staging its own panel event, complete with guest stars and a preview of season 2!

IGN first broke the news of ‘Hannibal’ coming to Comic-Con, having asked series creator Bryan Fuller about it in an interview for the upcoming season finale. The panel will be held on Thursday, July 18th at 6:45 P.M. in an as-yet-unrevealed location, featuring Fuller, Hugh Dancy (Will Graham), executive producer and director David Slade, as well as executive producer Martha De Laurentiis. Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be word of the man himself making an appearance.

In addition to screening a new sizzle reel of the first season, Fuller and the others will answer questions about the upcoming second season, which goes into production later this year. We’ll be on hand in San Diego to bring the news straight to you, but what do you think? Will ‘Hannibal”s Comic-Con 2013 panel prove as juicy as the first season?

‘The Lone Ranger‘ will be hitting theaters in a little over two weeks. Right now it doesn’t feel like one of the summer’s biggest tentpole films; perhaps it was waiting for some of the big superhero films to hit screens before going for the full-court ad press. But unlike its comic book competition, this film wants you to know many of its big set pieces were done practically.

That’s the focus of this featurette, which highlights that they shot on real trains and that Johnny Depp did much of his own horseback riding, which led to him falling off and getting stepped on. Ouch. This emphasis on practical effects is a little undercut by some of the footage presented, but it’s a good point to make after a couple weeks of movies filled with CGI-centric destruction.

‘The Lone Ranger’ has long been referred to as one of this summer’s biggest question marks, but that’s likely the baggage of a prolonged development process which involved budget cuts and a rethink of the plot (it once featured werewolves). We’ll see if it all worked out when ‘The Lone Ranger’ is released on July 3. Here’s the film’s synopsis:

The one advantage of having super-broke roommates is that they don’t have the extra cash to spring on giving your room a pretty, pretty princess makeover while you’re overseas travelling. This man did not have that advantage.

Ninety-one-year-old Sy Perlis, of Surprise, Arizona, recently set a world record in the 90-and-over category by lifting 187.5 pounds at the National Push-Pull Bench Press and Dead Lift Championships

The World War Two veteran is relatively late to the lifting game, having first gotten into the sport when he was 60. He missed  last year’s competition due to a hernia, but that has hardly slowed him down.

Perlis now works out five days a week and even serves as a role model for his wife, Joan, 69. She says, “I always say if it weren’t for my husband, I’d be at home watching TV and eating bonbons. He’s my motivator. He makes me work out, too.”

That’s impressive. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ve got a sudden hankering for some bonbons.

Not since Miss Teen South Carolina have we seen such a confusing response to a fairly straightforward question. Sincerely, look at Jezebel for maybe one day a year, and you should be able to at least bluff your way through that one. Instead, what happened? No really, what happened — we genuinely don’t know.

Well, the big summer blockbuster ‘Man of Steel’ came out this weekend and a big weekend it was! 

It raked in $125 million over the weekend.  Breaking the record for the biggest June opening weekend ever. Did you see it? What did you think? Do you like the new Superman?

‘World War Z‘ hits theaters this weekend, and Paramount wants to make sure you’re good and pumped for it. The studio has released a brand new extended clip from the film, featuring Brad Pitt‘s Gerry Lane making a daring rooftop escape with his family in tow, including ‘The Killing‘ star Mireille Enos.

It’s the same scene teased in previous trailers for the film, but here we get an extended look at the rooftop chaos — which isn’t that chaotic — and a glimpse at a couple of zombies. It all happens a bit fast though, and the focus is mostly on Gerry and his wife and kids as they make a mad dash for the helicopter.

‘World War Z’ has had some troubled history, with director Marc Forster (‘Quantum of Solace,’ ‘Stranger Than Fiction’) notoriously going back for re-shoots on the costly production. Recently, Pitt visited a handful of special advance screenings to help promote enthusiasm for the film, which hits theaters this Friday, June 21.

And if you’re really excited, Paramount has released special $50 tickets in select cities, which will allow fans to see the film two days early. In addition, buyers will receive a special pair of 3D glasses, digital content, a limited edition movie poster, and popcorn (of course).

Perhaps more so than any season to date, ‘Mad Men‘ season 6 stirred the internet the most with its numerous death omens, and the abundant rumors and theories that Megan Draper wouldn’t survive the season. Series creator Matthew Weiner remained predictably quiet until now, so who can we confirm will bite the big one before the season 6 finale?

No one! That is, if you trust the word of a notorious spoiler protector in a post-’Star Trek Into Darkness‘ world. When asked about the rumors by the LA Times, Weiner admitted that he didn’t want death to become a predictable fixture of the show following Lane Pryce’s suicide in season 5. Series star Elisabeth Moss chimed in that internet spoiler hounds were barking up the wrong tree, to which Weiner responded “It’s just not part of the show. No one’s going to die.”

As for the t-shirt that started the whole circus, Weiner explained:

Yes, Sharon Tate wore that T-shirt, but that was just my costume designer Janie Bryant and I solving an argument. Women’s T-shirts had not come into fashion. I always wanted Megan in a Disneyland T-shirt and Janie kept saying, ‘They’re not around yet.’ So I said, ‘There’s got to be a women’s T-shirt,’ and Janie brought [the photo of Tate] in and asked, ‘Is this OK?’ And I said, ‘Yes. I want that exact T-shirt.’ Little did I know…

Also present for the interview was Jessica Paré herself, who jokingly gave a sigh of relief that her character would live through the season, though Weiner responded that he’d never say never to killing someone off. Ninety-four-year-old Michael Karkoc has spent six decades living in America. Recently, the Associated Press discovered that, prior to illegally entering the country in 1949, he was a leader in a World War II group that committed war crimes including the massacres of women and children.

During the war, Karkoc was commander and founding member of the Ukrainian Self Defense Legion and then an officer in Nazi Germany’s SS Galician division. In 1944, he helped put down the Warsaw Rebellion, in which Polish citizens fought back against Nazi occupation, but were crushed. More than 200,000 Poles died, mostly in mass executions by the Nazis.

When Karkoc arrived in America, he lied to immigration officials, saying that he was not involved in any military service during the war. He said he ”worked for father until 1944. Worked in labor camp from 1944 until 1945.” He moved to Minnesota, where he has lived ever since, in a Ukrainian neighborhood in northeast Minneapolis.

Somewhat stunningly, Karkoc published a 1995 memoir detailing how in 1943 he founded the Ukrainian Self Defense Legion, with help from the notorious German SS intelligence agency, the SD. Many who have defended the Legion have claimed its main purpose was to fight against Stalin’s Soviet Union, but numerous historical records show that the group engaged in multiple major war crimes against civilians. It is unclear why Karkoc would make this information public, except perhaps that since it was written in Ukrainian he thought it would escape scrutiny. The book is even in the U.S. Library of Congress.

When the A.P. tracked Karkoc down at his house in MInneapolis, he refused to answer questions about his Nazi past, saying, “I don’t think I can explain.”

Foreigner‘s Mick Jones and Lou Gramm reunited to perform together for the first time in eight years, singing two of their hits at the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York City last night (June 13.)

Backed by the house band, the duo performed the songs ‘Juke Box Hero’ and ‘I Want to Know What Love Is,’ and were joined on the latter by Anthony Morgan’s Inspirational Choir of Harlem. Another songwriting legend, Billy Joel, inducted the duo into the Hall of Fame, joking that Foreigner really were musical heroes, “back when there were jukeboxes.”

Jones first broke the news of the event to us in a February interview, where he declared that he was “so proud of what Lou and I achieved in those early years and throughout the time that we were together. I think it’s the first time that we’ve been recognized for our work and our writing, which was really the foundation of what we did together, as much as the performing.”

The Center for Investigative Reporting and the Tampa Bay Times checked out the tax records of 6,000 charities to find the 50 worst at giving donations to the ones who need them.

The worst was Kids Wish Network. This group raised nearly $128 million over the last decade, with nearly $110 million going to corporate solicitors and fundraisers. All told, only about 2.5% went to the kids the organization claims to help.

Here’s a look at the 10 worst charities, along with the percentage of donations that actually went to those in need:

3. Children’s Wish Foundation International – 10.8%
4. American Breast Cancer Foundation – 5.3%

My favorite part is the one with the ostrich around the 2:58 mark!

It’s hard to know what to make of ‘300: Rise of an Empire‘ as the first film seemed a pretty complete story, and it came out in 2006 — which is a long, long time ago in sequel years. But this first trailer for the movie (released to coincide with producer Zack Snyder‘s latest film ‘Man of Steel‘) looks kind of great.

The footage features only a few familiar faces from the first film (we do get a cameo from Gerard Butler to help tie the two together), but director Noam Murro seems to have studied the look and feel (and speed ramping) of the Zack Snyder-directed first film, and so the aesthetics match up well. But with the boats and bigger locations, this has its own flavor. It doesn’t come across — at least on first pass — as the same story told with different characters.

It looks like most of the effects work is done (and they look great), which is surely because the film was supposed to hit theaters this summer. It was originally scheduled to open August 2, but was pushed to March 7, 2014. Usually an extended delay is a sign that the studio isn’t sure about the movie, but this trailer doesn’t suggest they have anything to worry about.

The customer is not always right.

In this very NSFW video, which has gone viral, a woman identified as Taylor Chapman unleashes a torrent of hate on a Dunkin Donuts employee in Florida because she’s furious she didn’t get a receipt during a previous trip to the eatery and wanted a free order to make up for it.

Chapman comes across as obnoxious (at best), while the real hero is the employee who patiently deals with her insults and never once loses his cool.

The employee in question, 18-year-old Abid Adar, will be acknowledged for his grace under pressure. Dunkin’ Donuts tweeted the following:

It’s unclear what the chain will do to thank Adar.

Back in 2008 he was on the Tonight Show to promote his movie Eagle Eye and here’s what he said. Yeah, creepy I know!!

The film adaptation of ‘Need for Speed,’ which is based on the very successful Electronic Arts video game franchise, is finally in front of cameras and will be hitting theaters next year. To hype the film, they’ve given a first peak behind the scenes at some of the stuntwork in the film.

And though the movie may have a basis in video games, it’s not hard to guess that the success of the ‘Fast and Furious‘ franchise is why this is being made now. That said, this brief featurette features a lot of practical stunts, with very expensive cars causing high-octane mayhem and helicopter chases. It also gives us our first look at Aaron Paul in the film, who will be coming off the series finale of ‘Breaking Bad‘ when this debuts on March 14, 2014.

It’s too early to get much of a read on the movie, but what’s on screen here makes it look like — if nothing else — it’s going to have a few pretty awesome set pieces. Here’s the film’s synopsis:

Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction. Tobey tears up the road in a gritty cross-country journey— one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption.
